Where does the violence come from and why?

Conservatives get the label of violent while Progressives (as defined by the Occupy movement) are violent spoiled children who want what other people have. 
In the first third of the Book of Mormon it describes people as being in slavery/bondage when the sovereign took 50% or more of their earnings and valuables, flocks, etc.   What percentage do we have to be "taxed" before we feel we are enslaved?  Many people under those circumstances chose to flee.  There were a few who were humble enough just to ask God to help them carry their burdens as they worked to enrich the government.
